Federal Government Distance Learning Association

The Federal Government Distance Learning Association (FGDLA) is a nonprofit association formed to promote the development and application of distance learning and to actively foster collaboration and understanding among those involved in leveraging technology in support of the education and training needs of the Federal government employee. Focused on supporting Federal government agencies involved in distance learning, the FGDLA is embarking on innovative ways to incorporate the latest instructional technologies for the new millennium. Our membership is derived primarily from people employed by the various agencies within the Federal government or on contract with the Federal government to support its distance learning programs.

Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative

The Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative can only fulfill its mission by partnering with the Services, Defense agencies, and Federal agencies in collaboration with the private sector and academia. The ADL Initiative provides leadership to the learning community by: Implementing guidance for designing and developing efficient, cost effective, and global distributed learning, Encouraging collaboration by demonstrating the practical application and success of learning technologies and methodologies, Advancing the state-of-the-art in the science and technology associated with individual and collective education, training, performance-support, and assessment, and Promoting a coordinated implementation process with incentives for organizational and cultural change.
