T-Mobile is one of the fastest growing mobile services in the USA with 72.6 million subscribers and a reputation of exceeding customer expectations. While the telesales team was performing and meeting its revenue targets, the organization was highly fragmented with call centers each using different processes, tools, management models and training approaches. They launched a sales management learning and transformation program. Branding focused on promoting the Un-Carrier culture with a theme to “Unleash, Empower and Excel U”. The goal was cultural change, excitement and a focus on working cohesively as one unified T-Mobile to delivery an outstanding customer experience. At Bing Lee Stores, Ritchie leads learning and culture. He embraces Virtual Reality, 360 video and immersive strategies to on-board and train retail and sales teams at Bing Lee Stores. And, discover the impact immersive learning has on speed to competency and performance. In the age of disruption, the best approach is a great strategy. DAU has evolved their learning strategy to reflect a new generation of workers, with impact metrics and performance drivers. Dr. Carman will reveal how DAU develops, implements and measures learning impact and their collaborative approach to strategic learning. Choice Hotels has been honored for its diversity and inclusion culture from Human Rights Initiative and Diversity Suppliers Award. It takes more than saying the words as we see from the current headlines. Tim joins this panel to provide insights in extending and inclusive culture across the franchise, supplier and corporate teams. As well as insights on how Choice University supports the various stakeholders’ training needs.
Globalization, social media, ever-increasing computing power, and the proliferation of low-cost advanced technologies have created a level of worldwide complexity and rapid change never before seen. To remain competitive in this environment, today’s workers, military members, and civil servants require an expanded set of competencies, higher levels of nuanced skills such as critical thinking and emotional intelligence, and more efficient and agile pathways to expertise. Achieving these outcomes depends, at least in part, on enhancing our learning ecosystem. This includes, for instance, identifying new ways to empower our personnel to learn anytime/anywhere, enhancing the quality of learning delivered, and better tailoring learning experiences to individuals’ needs. This session outlines a vision for the future of learning, painting a picture of the “art of the possible” and proposing a roadmap that outlines five enabling conditions needed to achieve this future vision. The conditions include: 1. Cultivate ubiquitous learner-centric, technology-enabled instruction; 2. Build upon the foundations of data-driven learning; 3. Foster a learning culture at the organizational level; 4. Encourage and empower social learning; and 5. Draw upon deliberate practices and the evidence-based body-of-knowledge from learning science. Enacting any one of these conditions will pose significant challenges, and particular science or technology gaps associated with each condition create additional hurdles. Nonetheless, the time is right, in terms of understanding and demand, to take action to modernize and improve the wider, integrated, lifelong learning system!
The modern professional works in increasingly volatile and unpredictable environments. 83% of employees indicate that “work” is their greatest source of stress. It’s taking a massive toll on employee engagement, performance and health. You can’t create a work environment that’s stress free, but you can create a culture of focus, resilience and high performance through mindfulness and employee wellbeing. In this session, you'll will: - Understand the state of stress, disruption and competition your employees are currently experiencing. - Learn proven methods of combatting stress with mindfulness and stress resiliency training through a ‘whole-employee’ approach to wellbeing. -Discover the best practices of leading companies who have already done it.
When it comes to a mandatory vs. elective approach to training, many companies find it difficult to strike a balance that yields high engagement and ensures necessary courses are completed. A “push” approach, or mandatory training, often causes employees to check out and fail to retain information from required courses. A “pull” approach, or elective training, typically creates higher engagement when courses are viewed, but can’t accommodate for compliance issues well. So how are organizations supposed to deliver training that covers everything in an engaging way and yields high learning retention? In this webinar, Dean Pichee will discuss the challenges and benefits of both types of training and discuss how to find the balance you’ve been trying to achieve. Key Learning Objectives: Learn about current trends changing the landscape of how effective training is delivered Understand the pros and cons of both mandatory and elective training See how post-training reinforcement is key to increasing learning retention Learn helpful techniques to introduce or improve gamification for higher engagement Presenter: Dean Pichee Presenter Bio: Dean Pichee founded BizLibrary in 1996, to provide affordable, high-quality, training resources to small and mid-sized organizations across all industries. Prior to founding BizLibrary, Dean founded and sold Capital Training Company, a training solutions provider for banks and financial institutions. Dean has served on the board of directors of leading trade associations for learning providers, including the Digital Learning Organization, and its predecessor, Training Media Association. He has also served on the board for the ALS Society of St. Louis. Dean earned a business degree from Washington University. Host: Krista Brubaker
